Why summer training?

Summer Training has been added in the course curriculum of engineering student's after they complete 2nd year and 3rd year of their course work. Before describing WHY you should do summer training I would like to describe WHY you should not do it?

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT? 1. Certificate: Most of the student's do it for the sake of the certificate where as having just a certificate without knowledge is similar to have a GUN without bullets. So think twice these certificates are useless if you can not defend it, or rather harmful for your career. 2. College needs it... The other category of student's do it because their colleges needs a certificate, In fact the real reason for forcing you to submit a summer training certificate is to motivate you to undergo this training.

WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT? 1. The main reason is to get the exposure of real working of Industry. So that you understand what type of projects are developed in Industry and how many skills are required to execute a simple single project. 2. Applying the knowledge learned in college while doing projects 3. To set the goal or the domain in which you would like to work after graduation 4. To acquire one additional advanced skill which is not taught in college course work

What you must do? 1. Make a clear project plan and execute atleast one project 2. Understand the complete "Making of Project" 3. Create a nice presentation and deliver a talk on this work 4. Identify at least 10 companies where you can get into after doing this project 5. Add this project in your CV and update it in all job sites including Linkedin

Latch vs Flip Flop

What is Latch? What is Flip Flop? They both store 1 bit of data. We know from text books that Flip Flop is an Edge triggered device and the Latch is a level triggered device. Let's see this by a picture:
Did you ever thought why Flip flop is an edge triggered device? How come Flip flop samples data only on edges of clocks? Let's try to find the answers of these question, if we answer these questions we will know the basic facts about why setup and hold time is required in a flip flop to function properly.. To be continued...

AND Gate : Multiplier? Adder? or an "AND" Gate

What is AND Gate? Is it a multiplier ? or an Adder? The answer of this question from 80% fresh graduates is multiplier. In fact many M.Tech's also said the AND gate is a multiplier... In fact the correct answer of this question is AND gate is an AND Gate.. Neither multiplier nor adder. In fact those who said the AND gate is a multiplier told one very important thing that all of them DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS DIGITAL Electronics. The whole digital electronics is based on Boolean algebra in which there is no operation caller "multiplication" or "addition" Boolean algebra is based on logic.. and the AND is one of the BASIC LOGICAL OPERATION in boolean algebra just like we have addition in airthmatic algebra. Now since we understand that AND gate is an AND gate so let's find out how it works? Let's assume I have a two input (A,B) AND Gate, & the output of this AND gate is Y. So what will be the Y if A=3 and B=5?? To be continued... this is food for thought for the young budding engineers:

Career choice : Electronics Engineer vs Electronics

95% of our life is because of the choices we make everyday.. 5% is destiny. This is a nice quotation and very true statement for any person. What choices you have made in life so far? There is one choice which is worth discussing as this article is going to impact your whole life if you choose to read on. This article is mainly written for the engineers by an electronics engineer. All to be engineers when they pass out the 12th standard made a choice of selecting their branch some chose Electronics as their career stream, at that point of time the motivation could be the remote controlled robots, or the latest state of the arts high tech gadgets. But now after completing 3 or 4 years of study how many of them are really planning to enter into the Electronics stream? Most of the electronics engineers are these days easily fascinated by the low lying fruits software jobs (.NET, Testing, PHP etc..). This happens mainly due to lack of awareness of this domain and lack of career guidance. The electronics domain is the most challenging domain in terms of technology and offers the best salaries in India. The starting salaries in this domain from the top VLSI companies after B.Tech is more than 6.0 Lacs per annum. In this domain the world’s top semiconductor companies has their design centres in India, The top companies in this domain are Intel, ST micro electronics, AMD, MOTOROLA, Freescale, ARM, Qualcomm, Samsung, Synopsys, Cadence etc. In this domain the companies are characterised as product companies, services companies and tool support companies. The product companies hires less engineers and they pay the best and then comes the Services companies they hires in bulk and it is not very difficult to get into these companies, and the third category is the tool development and support companies, they hires the less candidates and are the pay masters, they do not develop the semiconductor chips but they develop the support tools for developing the Semiconductor chips. All these companies hires fresh engineers. So how the fresh electronics engineer’s can apply and get selected in those top blue chip companies? Incise Infotech Training and placement Director Mr. Akshat Gupta is helping young engineers to get into these companies since last 3-4 years. He explains how the fresh engineers can get into this prestigious domain just by doing some right choices. His first advice to young engineers is to clear their basics of Digital electronics and Basic electronics fundamentals. He says that Incise infotech has developed a unique mechanism of asking the right fundamental question which challenges the hidden electronics engineer of each engineer and their talent comes out. After clearing the domain fundamentals he advices the young students to take some expert training while doing their engineering. This expert training is important as the technology has advanced very fast in the last 10 years. The Incise Infotech has a one year program which takes students from fundamentals to the very advanced concepts of chip development. The students learns the Verilog, System Verilog, Static Timing analysis and also Synthesis concepts. They make the real communication designs and simulate them and see them really working. The training method is learn by doing. Towards the end of the program they prepares the students for the interviews and written tests. During the training program all students gets to interact with the hardcore Semiconductor professionals who has developed world’s best innovations like Moto Razr, Apple iPad, Blue tooth devices, gaming consoles etc. At Incise the student’s do the complex and real Industry projects during their training program and solve the real problems. The focus of the projects is not the result but to learn the process of making the project. Incise also offer’s the dedicated short term training programs for the passout student’s which helps them cracking the first interview opportunity. The Semiconductor domain is a technology not a language like C,C++ or .NET, so the young engineers should have confidence and patience as it takes time and well defined process to learn the technology. The process to get a dream job is very simple. The first step is to identify what do you want? Once you know what is your dream job then identify what are the companies working in this domain or doing this kind of job? And then find out if you have any senior’s in that company else you can take help from social networking sites to find the people working in those dream companies. Then identify what those companies expects from a fresh engineer’s and plan how you can get that knowledge and how you can get the opportunity to present your knowledge in front of that company. In simple words set your goals and achieve it.

Life after death

Find a quiet place, close your eyes and visualize as if you are going to attend the funeral of some loved one. 2 Minutes....

All people have gathered there and you can feel the sorrow and sadness in the air. And suddenly you see the deadbody.. it's Your body lying there, you are dead.

All these people have come here to say good bye to you.

Now what do you want these people to talk about you?
How these people should remember you?
DO you think something is unfinished in life?
DO you think something you should have done differently?
Do you want to say sorry to someone?

Ask as many questions as you can ... do some introspection..!!

Rub your hands and put it on your eyes and see you are still alive.. still breathing.. this could be your second chance to life.

Plan your life, plan how you want to be remembered, plan your life visualizing the end result in front of you.

If you can visualize it ..you can very well do it.. visualization is the first seed.

Guys we have only one life .. live it to the fullest.. achieve maximum, give back maximum, leave some positive mark in the life of others..

Best of luck.
Happy Visualization
